Saint Edmond’s Academy is proud to announce the following information for the 43rd Annual Summer Boys' Basketball Camp. Click here to register after you have read the information below. The camp administrator is Bill D’Amato, a long-time member of the Saint Edmond’s Academy faculty and coaching staff. The camp director is Joe McDonald, head basketball coach at Saint Edmond’s Academy. The assistant director is Nick Sanna, a 1994 SEA alumnus and head varsity men’s basketball coach at Saint Mark’s High School.
The camp has had many great guest speakers over the years including: Fran Dunphy (Temple), Phil Martelli (Saint Joseph’s), Lefty Ervin (LaSalle), Speedy Morris (LaSalle and Saint Joseph's Prep), John Giannini (LaSalle), Joe Mihalich (Niagara), Matt Brady (James Madison), Dick Delaney (West Chester), Monte Ross (Delaware), Mike Brey (Notre Dame) plus college players from various Big 5 schools.
The counselors lead the teaching of basic basketball fundamentals to each camper.
The camp day consists of group instruction, team practices, team games, individual competition and a guest lecturer.
Campers enjoy the comforts of playing in the gym and the air-conditioned Field House.
The goal of the camp is for each camper to walk away from the Saint Edmond’s Academy Basketball Camp with a better understanding of the game and a higher level of individual and team skills.
