FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Academy Families,
As a parent, I am embarking on a new journey. My son, Drew, is a senior in high school, and we have been visiting colleges for the past six months.  It is bittersweet for me.  I am excited for my son to take on this new challenge in his life.  But I am also sad.  I will miss him!  We have been through a lot together, but he is transforming into quite an amazing young man. I remember thinking when he was in middle school how hard he could be…one word answers, silliness I never really understood, and difficult behavior at times.  [Click here for more.]
BOOK DAY FORMS, FILES and NOTES

Please be sure you've read through the 2016-2017 handbook with your son. Acknowledgement

STUDENT COUNCIL CONSTITUTION

Student Council elections are getting underway. Amy Rottura, 7-2 will be the group's moderator this year. Amy will help the boys write their campaign speeches (if needed) during enrichment on Tuesday and Thursday.  There is whole lot of info in this packet she prepared for the interested candidates. The packet includes important guidelines and dates.  If your son plans to run, please take a moment to read through all the information.  Email Amy with Questions.

FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Academy Families,
The other day I was driving and saw the bumper sticker, “Run.  Find yours.”  If you have been a SEA parent for a while, you may know I love to run.  Honestly, it is how I survive the management challenges of being a principal, mother, wife, daughter and friend.  Running has saved me many times.  For the past few months, I have been unable to run due to some medical concerns (all fine).  Honestly, I am a bit afraid to put those shoes back on.  It is going to be painful.  I am way out of running shape! But we all need something to decompress, and for me, it is running.  I know I have to do this.  So, as I force myself to tie those laces, I sure hope you find what helps you.  If it is not running, I hope it is something else.  We all need to “find ours.” [Click here for more.]
HELP WITH THE DARK LANCER CASTLE

If you have a few free moments tomorrow, we need your help with some things in preparation for the The Dark Lancer Castle (back of campus) on 10/21 & 10/22. Please meet Denise Grenda (Nick '18) at 1:30 at the "Brother’s House"  tomorrow to help move stuff to the dumpster. Unfortunately this is not a service hour opportunity for our boys. The items we need help with are very heavy. ALSO, we don't want them seeing the inside of the haunted house before the time comes! If anyone in your family is interested in 'acting' in the Haunted House, please email Denise or call 302-575-1555.
2016 TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS BEGIN

Talent Show Auditions signups have begun. Registration forms are now available. Our Annual Talent is is open to SEA students and family members are invited to perform with the boys in their acts.  There are some changes in show this year, so read the registration form for details. Auditions will be held in the Rollins Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, October 17th at 6:00pm. Looking forward to another GREAT Talent Show! Please email Ms. Cascione with any questions.
GRANDPARENT & SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY

NEXT FRIDAY is GPD & Special Friends Day The day begins with registration at 9:30am accompanied by light fare served in the Great Hall. Grandparents will then visit their student's classrooms, participate in activities, enjoy a musical performance, and be our guests for lunch. Formal invitations are in the mail and we encourage our parents to share this information with their sons' grandparents. No advance RSVP required. If a grandparent did not receive a mailed invitation, please click here to submit their information so they will receive all future mailings.
BOX TOPS CHALLENGE NEXT WEEK

Let the games begin! We hope many Box Tops arrive at the Academy every day next week as homerooms compete for a free tag day. Students are encouraged to collect Box Tops at home. Please label all submissions with your son’s name and homeroom. We will keep a record of each donation. A tag day will be awarded to the classroom in each form with the greatest number of Box Tops. The homeroom with the overall greatest total will be crowned Box Tops Champs! We are also happy to report that during the past two weeks the library received $40 in Box Top donations from the Balentine, Daily, Dougherty, Hall, Hancox,  Healy, Lehmann, Malatesta, Migliore, Powell, Russell, Smith, and Trickey families. Thanks!
FROM THE SEA PARENTS' GUILD

Thank you for your fantastic response to our call for help with staffing of Grandparents' Day.
The Signup Genius we emailed all parents this past Monday (September 19th)  is still active because we still need just a few more things. Would you like to help but are not free that day? Why not drop off a dessert to the Main Office the day before! We have just a few more needs to fill. Will you take another look at our Signup Genius?  Thanks  :)
KNIGHTHOOD PLANNING MEETING: 9/26
