FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families, 
Never did I want the year 2019 to arrive but here we are! 2019 is the year when both of my children live away at college. My ‘empty nest’ days always seemed so far away, even when Drew left for American University. I kept telling myself, “Haley is still home.” But as the ball dropped at the new year so did my stomach. Even though I am excited for what 2019 will bring my daughter, I am going to focus on cherishing these remaining senior year moments: last year in competitive sports, senior prom, and graduation. So, to our Class of 2019 parents, as your son decides his new school, remember to cherish the moments along the way as they wind down their journey at Saint Edmond’s Academy.   [Continue reading here.]

Progress reports will be posted on Friday, 1/18 (3:30ish) in NetClassroom.  These grades are just a snapshot of your son's gradepoint at the midpoint of the trimester.

 WFS HOSTS HISTORY BEE TOMORROW
ATTN: 7th & 8th Grade Families: Wilmington Friends School is hosting the Delaware History Bee + Bowl tomorrow- 1/5.
Any student is welcome to compete. Depending on how well he does, he may qualify for Nationals (JV Nationals is in Arlington, VA on April 28; Middle School Nationals is in Chicago on June 7-9). If your son is interested, please speak with him and reach out to Amy Rottura. We already have an eighth-grade student who is planning on competing!

BUSINESS CASUAL FOR GRADE 8
Beginning Next Friday, January 11th: The Class of 2019 is invited to participate in Business Casual Fridays. The 8th grade students are permitted to wear khakis and a collared shirt. No t-shirts are allowed. If a student receives a detention, he loses the privilege of participating in the next Business Casual Friday (a Student Council recommendation).
