GET INVOLVED SCHOOL CALENDAR GIVE
FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families,
Tomorrow is the Feast Day of Saint André of Montreal. We will honor Saint Brother Andre this Monday during our afternoon Liturgy. When Brother Andre first arrived at the Holy Cross Brothers in 1870, a note from his pastor stated, “I am sending you a saint.” This was difficult to understand since Andre arrived sickly and in chronic pain. He carried with him a reputation for not being able to hold a job too long due to this chronic sickness. But Andre persisted and knew his deep devotion to God and Saint Joseph would help him prevail. After his vows, Brother Andre was sent to Notre Dame College in Montreal (a school for boys age seven to twelve) as a porter. Here, Brother Andre answered the door, welcomed guests, and delivered mail. He found his calling here and people flocked to Brother Andre to pray to God and Saint Joseph. What we can learn from Brother Andre is important it is to be willing to just start small. It is amazing how these small steps can lead you to a closer connection to God. There is a simple prayer to Saint Andre that often helps:

Saint Brother Andre, your devotion to Saint Joseph is an inspiration to us. You gave your life selflessly to bring the message of his life to others. Pray that we may learn from Saint Joseph, and from you, what it is like to care for Jesus and do his work in the world. Amen

During the month of January our enrichment program resets for the 4th-8th Grade boys. This week boys will receive the new listings of the enrichment program. Please be reminded--the enrichment period is meant to first serve our fine arts department. Many years ago, this period was built into the school day so boys could sing, play an instrument or take advanced art, during this time slot, as opposed to being pulled from academics throughout the day or meeting after school. Mrs. Rubio will distribute and collect all enrichment forms. We will do our best to meet your son’s requests, but there are times when this is impossible. Either way, your son will be fine with his enrichment.

Thank you for your patience during these cold, snowy days. We do our best to make decisions based on news reports. We will keep our eye on Monday night, but with the temperature rising (thank goodness), we should be fine. your family!   Fondly, Tricia
