FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families,
Every time I write the year 2017, I have to take a deep breath.  It feels personal to me as it marks they year of my son’s high school graduation. For so long now, I would think of 2017 and many thoughts and emotions would come to mind-- Will you never arrive?  Can you take a long time to arrive?  Will we ever get to 2017?  …Just a flood of emotions around the idea of one date.  Well, it has arrived and the shining light is that the college search has ended.  Drew has committed to ...        [Click here to finish reading.]
SAVE THE DATE FOR FAMILY NIGHT
Please join us on Saturday, February 4th from 6-9pm for a pizza dinner followed by Bunco which is an 'all-ages' dice game of partners. It is a night of fun and excitement and a lot of craziness with small victories and defeats, all with the roll of dice. Bunco is a very long-standing tradition at S.E.A! Tickets will be sold at the door $5/child and $10/adult.
FROM THE THOS. P. SWEENEY LIBRARY
As Box Tops continue to arrive at the school each week, Janice Lehmann (Parker '18, Connor '16) and I would like to thank contributing families for their support. It is amazing how successful this program can be when we all work together. We are very hopeful that we will reach our $1,000 goal this year. Please look forward to another Box Tops Blitz January 23-27th! Which homeroom will win this time? Start clipping now to help your son’s homeroom win. Not only was our Barnes and Noble night was well attended, it was also a huge success! The Library received a gift card for over $500 from the store.  Thank you for your support!
QUICK GLANCE at WHAT YOU'RE MISSING

Are you following us on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter yet? You get a glimpse of what your son is up to! Don't want to use up your device's space by installing these apps? You don't have to! Just visit their websites and follow us. We are always sharing scenes from the school day, celebrating accomplishments or sharing valuable information. Click here to view an adorable Facebook video of Lower Form goings-on this afternoon. On the “6th of January” the Three Kings visited SEA.  The boys in the lower form chose a king: Melchior, Baltazar or Gaspar, and wrote them a letter asking them to please visit SEA. They each left a shoe on the stage in the Rollins Center. After recess, the boys were excited to see that they had come and left them candy in their shoes. They couldn’t believe the grass and water they left for the Kings’ camels had been eaten and drank. It was truly magical. Afterwards the second grade celebrated and made crowns with their chosen King to honor them on this holy day.  Happy 12th Day of Christmas from SEA!

NEW BOY SCOUT TROOP at S.E.A
SEA is now the sponsor of a new Boy Scout Troop! We are seeking parent volunteers and current Boy Scouts (6th graders and up) interested in joining SEA Troop 59.  Please bring your scout to an informational night THIS Tuesday, 1/10 at 6:30pm in the Rollins Center.  Webelo II (5th-grade) Cub Scouts and their parents who are looking for a troop to bridge to in February are welcome to attend the session as well.  For additional information, please email Ken Murphy (Padraic ’19 and Henry ’21).
AUDITIONS THIS SUNDAY (1/8) 6-9pm

The wait is over! Auditions for Godspell will take place in the Rollins Center this Sunday! Please plan to arrive five minutes early so we can start promptly at 6pm. At 6:00 sharp, there will be an important meeting for all participants and parents. Instructions, contracts, rehearsal schedules, and all forms for parents will be given out at this time.  There are a few differences this year, so plan to be present for the meeting. While the rehearsal lasts until 9pm, younger students will audition first and dismissed first. Parents who have been part of the program will be on hand to answer questions about the experience. It is a commitment, but well worth it. It takes a village to produce a show! We appreciate the great interest and are excited about getting started. Audition 'Call Backs' will be held THIS Wednesday1/11 and the cast list will be posted Thursday, Jan. 12.  Thank you!
