FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL

Dear SEA Families,
Yesterday I attended a high school soccer game.  Parents on both sides were screaming to their daughters about positioning, aggressiveness, and all sorts of stuff.  I was not participating in such parenting acts because my daughter was not playing due to her new medical condition.  Haley contracted pneumonia in the fall and has never fully recovered from a breathing perspective.  Why am I telling you all this?  [Please click here to keep reading.]

CONVEY YOUR 2017-2018 PLAN TO US
If you plan to re-enroll your son for the 2017-2018 school year, but have not yet returned his contract, please do so as soon as possible. It's important for the administration to know the anticipated number of students for the upcoming school year so they can make the best decisions regarding retaining and/or hiring teachers, determining class sizes and course offerings available. Please contact George Jefferson or Pete Duncan with questions. We appreciate your prompt response.
HELP SEA WIN LEARNING MATERIALS
New Castle County's annual Great Schools, Clean Streams Pledge runs until April 21st. Please spread the word to all SEA supporters to help us win cash prizes for supplies and educational projects that benefit our boys!   Visit the website, sign a simple online pledge (on the school’s behalf) to dispose of their used cooking oil and grease in the trash. The schools that collect the most pledges will win prizes. NCC sponsors this contest because keeping used cooking oil out of the county sewer system helps prevent water pollution! We're only in fifth place right now!  The top NCC schools are Caravel Academy with 173 pledges, Ursuline with 131, Christ the Teacher with 122, Holy Angels with 108 and SEA with 86 pledges. Please send the link to family and friends.

FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
Have you made your tax-deductible gift to Saint Edmond's yet this school year? There is still time! Our campaign year runs through June 30th and all gifts received on or before that date will receive credit in this year's Annual Report of Donors. Our current participation stands at 36%, and we'd love to surpass last year's participation rate of 52%. Please note, that in previous years many families chose to make their Annual Fund gift via their State of Delaware bus subsidy which was eliminated after the fall election season. We hope those families will consider making a direct contribution to SEA at the same level or greater than last year's subsidy of $78. Thank you for your support!  Please click here to make your gift online now.
