FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families,
There is an Swahili proverb, “Asiyefunzwa na mamae hufunzwa na ulimwengu,” which can be translated as, “the upbringing of a child belongs to the community.” After years of translations, we often hear the similar quote, “It takes a village.” I know when I say I have been here for 11 years, it may not seem that long. However, when I arrived at the Academy eleven years ago, I had two young children, Drew who was 9 at the time, and Haley, 7.  This Morning, as I started to pack boxes of some of my office things, I was thinking of how so many significant milestones in my life and my children’s lives occurred while I was principal at SEA. This special community helped me raised my children. I have always said that it is the responsibility of every adult to raise every child. You were my village for so many years and I am deeply grateful for all the love and support. Thank you.

We have rescheduled Field Day and Athletic Awards Ceremony to be Monday. Your son should know if he is 'red' or 'gray' for the day. If he does not, please email his teacher.

At this point, all students in grades 6-8 have received their study guides for final exams and tests. It is important to begin reviewing this weekend. We will continue to communicate with you about end-of –year information. I know it can be overwhelming, however, please take the time to read the emails and announcements. If anything does not seem clear, please do not hesitate to ask.

May you enjoy the weekend with family and friends!
Fondly,  Tricia

Well Done! Singers should turn in their music at the next rehearsal. We will be assessing voices for next year's Academy Singers. There will be a new choir next year, The Lancers, which will be an auxiliary group to Academy Singers. This group is also by invitation and provides some experience for students to prepare for their Academy Singers membership.
