FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families,
Welcome Back! I am incredibly honored to begin my eleventh year here at SEA! The year to come is filled with amazing opportunities for all of our boys as they learn, grow and mature.  I love my job, but this summer I needed some inspiration. So, in place of my usual summer reading...  [Click here to keep reading.]
SEA HANDBOOK NOTES
Your son will review his form's handbook in class next week.  He will then bring it home and we require that you read through it together before signing and sending back the 'acknowledgement forms'. If you'd like to get a head start, both handbooks are available on your 'Welcome Page' behind the log-in on My SEA.
CLASS OF 2019 FAMILIES
Two Notes for the families of boys graduating in June 2019:
◊  Please try not to schedule any 'High School Visits' for your son on Portrait Day which is Wednesday, October 24th.
Please reach out to the SEA Parents' Association if you would like to 'Chair' or 'Co-Chair') the graduation committee. It's not too soon.
WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU
Please remember to use the  attendance@stedmondsacademy.org address when your son will be absent, late or leaving early. Although it feels natural to email the teachers, it's not our policy. Teachers are usually unable to check email in time for the attendance report, and your son ends up with an unexcused. At SEA, 'Unexcused' just means that we haven't heard from you on his behalf. All absences are excused when communicated to the Main Office (302-475-5370)(x227).
SIGN UP FOR THE LANCER DASH

PERFORMING ARTS NOTES

Three Choirs and Six Alumni
W
e are starting our year off with a bang. Members of our choirs and six alumni are singing the National Anthem at the Phillies-Marlin game on Sunday, September 16th at 1:35 PM. Thank you to those who are going to be there to support us. Your tickets will be distributed closer to the date. Anyone who ordered tickets who would prefer to pick them up in person rather than their son bringing them home, please contact Ms. DeHart. More info for those singing will be sent to parents through email including the crucial bus permission slip. In preparation for the event, singers will rehearse during the Enrichment period time slot Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week. (Enrichment begins October 1st.)
New singers are welcome to audition for Academy Singers or register for Academy Chorus or Men's Ensemble without an audition. New singers may have missed the Phillies, but we are looking at singing the Anthem for the new Blue Jackets basketball team (affiliated with the 76ers) later in the school year.

Things That Go Bump in the Night
Over the summer, Ms. DeHart wrote a short play for Halloween for presentation during the school year. Members of the cast are Michael Ciampoli, Luke Hancox, John Lovett, Jack Maister, Sam Wahl, Colin Arcari, Ian Gosse and Jude Tingey. The cast met over the summer and are looking forward to presenting the play for the student body on Halloween day. Next rehearsal will be Friday, September 14, 3-4:00pm.
