FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Academy Families,
Tomorrow is one of the best days of the year at Saint Edmond’s! Our annual Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day is always met with excitement by our students and their guests. It is an opportunity for the students to share their SEA experience with a special group. The day will begin at 8am with coffee and breakfast, and conclude by noon with the traditional Tug-of-War competition. As a reminder, if you would like, your sons are permitted to leave with their guests as the day concludes.
Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day also is a sign that we are completing the first month of the school year. As we move into October, the academics begin to accelerate. It is always important for you, as parents, to continue to take the time to review the homework and study plans. This is also an opportunity to remind the boys about the after-school help sessions. Sometimes that extra time goes a long way.
Over the next few weeks, we will be finishing up the fall sports season, moving to our winter uniform, snapping school pictures and having our first round of Parent/Teachers Conferences. One date I want to draw attention to is Saturday, October 19th – this is our Halloween Trunk-or-Treat event at the school. This event is run by our Parents’ Association –-a group that is very active and helps to build and maintain a sense of community for the school. On Thursday, October 3rd the Parents’ Association will hold their first meeting. This is a good opportunity to meet other parents and find out how you can help!   --Brian Ray
SEA HALLOWEEN EVENT-  TRUNK or TREAT!
Our Parents' Association is happy to announce the return of SEA's Halloween Event on Saturday, October 19th. There will be tailgate-style ‘Trunk or Treating’ WJBR on site, music, food and so much fun for sure! We are currently asking families, sport teams, or homerooms to sign up to host a trunk. The event is also open to the community so share with a friend! We will send out more details about food and other events for the evening, but we are currently asking you to grab a spot for your trunk before they are all reserved!
PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY AT DROP-OFF
We understand that as the clock approaches 7:55am, you begin to worry your son will arrive to find carline doors closed or that you'll miss your other drop-offs but everyone is in the same boat. Please be reminded that the left lane is only for driving through.  It should not be used for getting through carline faster. This creates several issues. We understand the inclination to pull ahead but we have to insist everyone follows the same safety procedures.
REMINDER FROM OUR ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM
We want to remind everyone that students are not permitted to call home to arrange for a parent to pick them up. Any change in dismissal plans must go through the Nurse, Main Office, Academic Director or Registrar. Please help us enforce this.

We are looking forward to the performances by our combined choirs: Academy Singers, Academy Chorus, The Lancers, and Men's Ensemble tomorrow at Grandparents Day. There will also be several monologues presented and an original piano composition created by Nicholas Mowbray. Hope to see you there!
