FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Are you authentic? This has been the theme of our last few Monday Meetings. Our goal is for the boys to honor their true selves and be comfortable in whom they are as boys/teenagers. To add a little excitement to the meetings, teachers were asked to submit two truths and one lie about themselves. The students have to decide which of their statements is false. REQUIREMENT FOR GRADES 7 & 8
Mrs. Hayes-Hartman will be coordinating the community service program at the Academy this year. It is very important that you read this information regarding the requirements for  our 7th and 8th grade students.
 EXTRA HELP SESSIONS -THURSDAYS
'Extra Help' sessions are held weekly on Thursdays until 3:35pm. Pick up by 3:40!
IMPORTANT NOTE-
Students must bring specific questions/problems. Parents shouldn't send students for 'extra help' in general. This is not effective and cannot be accomplished after school. Anyone in need of clarification, please reach out to us.
BOYS SCOUTS + CUB SCOUTS AT SEA
All boys/girls K-Gr 5 are welcome to join Cub Scouts and all boys grades 6-12 are welcome to join Boy Scouts. Newbies can just show up at any meeting (Wednesdays at 6:30 in the room beneath the SEA Library-across from the playground). Want more Cub Scout Info? Reach out using this email address. JOIN TEAM 'BILLY D the KIDNEY' 10/28
7th & 8th grade students are invited to volunteer at this event with a parent chaperone. If you and your son would like to support Mr. D'Amato, please email Mrs. Hayes-Hartman. Walk for kidney patients, families and those at risk. National Kidney Foundation's job is to find ways to improve and extend lives and your participation means they can continue being a lifeline. LANCER DASH 5K IN TWO DAYS
Join us THIS Saturday, 9/29 at 5pm for a walk/run through Arden. Proceeds support the George Leidy Fund. Thank you to all of our sponsors! SEA TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held on Monday, October 15, 6-8pm.
If you cannot attend, make an iMovie of your act and send it by 3pm on 10/15. Get your signup form from Ms. DeHart.  
CONDITIONING PGM + B-BALL SIGNUPS
Coach Tye Taylor is offering both a preseason conditioning program and an open gym program for all students interested in playing basketball this year. Preseason Conditioning will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm in the Field House. The 'Open Gym' program will be held on Fridays from 3:30-4:30pm in the Field House. All students in Grades 3-8 are welcome to join as long as there is not a Fall Sports conflict during those times. These programs are for the athletes to get into better shape and to work on their individual skills before the season. The last day of school is Thursday, 6/6. There is no school on Wednesday, 6/5 or Friday, 6/7.  Here is the updated calendar.  We ask that you to check the website calendar on a regular basis.

REDUCED 'DROP-IN' RATE  [AFTERCARE]

If using aftercare ahead of or after basketball practice is in your plans (even occasionally!), then make sure you have a contract. Without a contract, 'Drop-Ins' are $20/hour. Why not sign a contract, pay the $35 registration fee and use  services for just $10/hr. Contracts can be found on our website at Admission/Extended Day/Forms.
TELL A FRIEND!   SEA ADMISSIONS
SEATS PROGRAM RETURNS  Boys and Girls (ages 3-4) are invited to SEA Tuesdays in October from 9:30 –10:30am; These special sessions include age-appropriate experiences in Storytelling, Reading, Spanish, Arts, Music, Technology + iPad Learning and Athletics.
NOTE: Parents/Guardians must stay for the length of the program.

Rehearsals for Things that Go Bump in the Night are 10/5, 10/12, 10/19 (3-4:15pm) 10/26 from 3-4:30pm. There is no rehearsal tomorrow-Friday, 9/28.
