Get Involved School Calendar Give

FROM THE DESK OF OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families,

Ralph Waldo Emerson said,  "There are many things of which a wise man might wish to be ignorant.”  ..and I get it!
We're all at information 'overload' anymore. Sometimes you just can’t take much more 'overload' from your child’s school. At SEA we do our best to streamline it all for you in one newsletter a week-The Knightly News.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself: Is my son registered for basketball tryouts? Did my son tell me about the Talent Show? Do I know when conferences are this month? Do you know what to do this year if your son is a 7th grader or 8th grader for high schools? Do you know about Coach Taylor’s after school conditioning classes? We have so much going on here, and we want you to have all the answers in quick space. Please read the Knightly News and find out about all of these questions and more.

For the first time ever, I have agreed to a (very) small part in the Halloween school play. I ask our boys every day to take a risk, go outside their comfort zone and try something new. I thought, “I need to try the one thing really out of my comfort zone-the school play.” I have never been part of any school play- not as a student, teacher or principal. I have to admit, I am a bit nervous! But I want the boys to see that taking a risk is worth it. I better go practice my brief four lines. Wish me luck.

Have a nice Friday and enjoy your weekend!   Tricia

Jazz Band rehearsals will take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-3:30pm. The first rehearsal of the year will be Tuesday, October 16th! Returning Jazz Band members are not required to audition. Please email Mrs. Gottuk with any questions!
REQUIREMENT FOR GRADES 7 & 8
Mrs. Hayes-Hartman will be coordinating the community service program at the Academy this year. It is very important that you read this information regarding the requirements for  our 7th and 8th grade students.
 EXTRA HELP SESSIONS -THURSDAYS
'Extra Help' sessions are held weekly on Thursdays until 3:35pm. Pick up by 3:40!
IMPORTANT NOTE-
Students must bring specific questions/problems. Parents shouldn't send students for 'extra help' in general. This is not effective and cannot be accomplished after school. Anyone in need of clarification, please reach out to us.
JOIN TEAM 'BILLY D the KIDNEY' 10/28
7th & 8th grade students are invited to volunteer at this event with a parent chaperone. If you and your son would like to support Mr. D'Amato, please email Mrs. Hayes-Hartman. Walk for those at risk. National Kidney Foundation's job is to find ways to improve and extend lives and your participation means they can continue being a lifeline. Join the D'Amato Family, donors, recipients and friends on 10/28 at the Riverfront. More info here.
BARNES & NOBLE + CHICK-FIL-A NIGHT
Join us on Wednesday, November 28th for dinner and Christmas shopping. Barnes & Noble sells more than just books. Plan to buy a few Christmas gifts (have them wrapped!) and have dinner too.
