GET INVOLVED SCHOOL CALENDAR GIVE
FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL

It is a story about a spunky, redheaded young girl (If you met Haley, you would understand the association.) For children, though, October can be a stressful month. Think about it. The school year is well underway and becoming more difficult. Progress reports and parent/teacher conferences hang over their heads. Athletic teams are being chosen. S-T-R-E-S-S! Let’s give extra hugs and stay positive during October. But let’s also remember that if our children are disappointed, it can be a powerful life lesson.  A few years ago, Vicki Huber Rudawsky wrote a Delaware Online article about parenting athletes...  [Click here to finish reading.]

SPRING 2018 FLORIDA BUS TRIP
GRADE 7 & 8 PARENTS: Please join us in the Rollins Center for the Performing Arts THIS Tuesday, October 24th at 6pm to discuss the SEA Spring 2018 Florida Bus Trip. We have made some changes to this annual tradition. We look forward to answering your questions. Bring your son if you would like to.
TOMORROW NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS!
The weather looks great for a night outdoors. Come hungry because Deerhead Hot Dogs will be on site. Denise Grenda (Nick '18) and family have another fantastic haunted house waiting for you, too ($5 per ticket).  We also still have a few spots for your Trunk or Treat tailgate tomorrow so email us if you need a tailgate spot. Hayrides, a DJ and good weather--you're all set to join the WJBR 99.5 FM Street Team and us. Bring your neighbors and friends! See you there!

...the lives of our deceased alumni. We would like to invite all of our present families,  alumni and alumni parents to our annual Alumni Memorial Liturgy on Sunday, 11/12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Rollins Center. Father John Zagarella, from Archmere Academy, will be our celebrant. We will gather together in the Anthony N. Fusco, Sr. Great Hall for a reception after the mass. EXPERIENCE DYSLEXIA AT ST. ED's
Join us at SEA on Wednesday, November 29th from 6-8pm to experience what it is like to be a dyslexic student in the classroom! This program is suitable for parents, teachers, administrators or anyone who wishes to learn more about how dyslexia affects students in the classroom.Decoding Dyslexia is a network of parent-led movements all throughout the States concerned with the limited access to educational interventions.
CONFERENCES and PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress Reports will be posted in NetClassroom NEXT Friday, 10/27. A progress report is issued at the midpoint of a marking period. Parent/Teacher conferences coincide with the release of progress reports so that your attention is drawn to anything which might need to be addressed before the final grade is assigned at the end of the First Trimester. SEA uses Signup Genius to invite you to arrange your own conference schedule. You do not need to make any appointments unless the progress report notes include a request from a teacher. JK-Gr 3 conferences are 20 minutes. Grades 4-8 are 10 minutes each. Conferences are 5-7pm on Thursday, 11/2 and 8am-2pm on Friday, 11/3. We will email you the links to the Signup Genius pages on 10/30 @ 7pm.
