Get Involved School Calendar Give
FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Academy Parents,
Shakespeare said, “Better three hours too soon than a minute too late.” Tardiness at the Academy concerns me.  Now, I am not asking for students to arrive three hours early, but I do think it is critical for our boys to have enough time to start their day with success.  SEA begins at 8am.  This means their first class, whether they are 4 or 14, begins at 8 am. They have to have been in homeroom, packed for the day (in grade 4-8) and then get to 1st period. Arriving at 8, your son will need to scramble to start his day, let alone be ready to learn.  I know when I arrive close to opening of the school doors, it causes me to be anxious because I didn’t allow myself time to get ready for the day.  It is not an easy way to begin.  So, I ask of all parents, please do your very best to have your son arrive in homeroom BEFORE 8am.  Let’s give them the best chance possible.  This weekend we have many of our sports teams competing in playoffs and championships.  We have our two varsity soccer games playing at the same time, next to each other at Banning Park.  We also have cross country championships Sunday at Bellevue Park. Best of luck to all our teams. Go Lancers!
HAVE YOU 'OPTED-IN'? DEADLINE SOON
Please review the email we sent Tuesday morning. SEA will continue to use the SchooL Messenger broadcasting system for 'voice-calls' regarding snow/ice closing or delays but we're looking to add the company's 'texting' feature. We can't do this without your help. You must 'opt in'. Please review the email for info.
The deadline to do so is approaching.
PLEASE SEND IN RED BLAZERS
We have heard you. We understand your thoughts on the long process with placing orders at Rush Uniform. The administration will be meeting to look into long term solutions. In the meantime, however, a short term solution is to ask you (and any alumni families you know) to check your closets once again and send in any blazers your son (or theirs) no longer needs. Please return them in any condition (we'll take a close look) to the Resale Room.

HIGHLIGHT YOUR BUSINESS WITH AN AD
The Brother Ralph Edmiston Classic is coming up! This week-long tournament brings together schools in the spirit of friendship to challenge each other for the championship title. Brother Ralph served as SEA’s athletic director for 15 years, but his crowning achievement was the example that he set for others. We are proud to host this tournament in his name each year. We hope that you will join us as a sponsor by placing an ad in the event program book. The tournament begins on Friday, 11/25 with the championship game held on Saturday, 12/3. Proceeds from the tournament including program book ads, benefit our boys. Please click here for more info and to reserve your advertising spot now.
