FROM the DIRECTOR of the LANCER LUNCHROOM

Dear SEA Families,
As a follow up to Coach Tye’s note a couple weeks ago regarding Brain Foods, I wanted to highlight some of the many choices your sons have each day in the Lancer Lunchroom. While the teachers and staff are busy feeding their brains with knowledge, we get to FEED them real food. And as you likely know, your boys can eat! We believe the foods they consume do have an effect on how their brains function later in the day. To this point, we strive to create a variety of choices, that when selected together, create a balanced meal.
We cook from scratch as much as possible, lean on a number of semi-homemade staples that have become favorites, and limit the number of times we offer those items that most kids consume plenty of outside of school.

In addition to the published hot lunch, we also offer a variety of smart choices from our grab and go salad bar. Garden fresh selections include salads (Caesar, house or spinach), hand cut fruits and vegetables and whole fruits such as apples, oranges, bananas and pears. Toppings for the salads include hard boiled eggs, tuna, chicken, cottage cheese and other daily specials. Did you know they go wild for the house-made refrigerator pickles? Rounding out our a la carte selections, we have hummus, a variety of yogurts with granola topping, as well as granola bars/cereal for those days when nothing else sounds good.

Of course we have treats for special occasions and the crunchy snacks, but we really encourage the boys to enjoy those in moderation. We are committed to providing Academy students with choices that will help them return to their afternoon classes fueled and focused. Feel free to stop in any time to see what we’re cooking up next in the Lancer Lunchroom!

REFERRAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM - 3 TIERS
When a prospective family initiates contact with us for admission purposes, we usually discover our own current families told them about us. Prospective families listen to whom they trust and, when considering a new school, no advertisement or billboard can replicate the testimonial of a satisfied SEA parent who has witnessed the growth of their own son(s). We recognize the most effective marketing resource can be our own ambassadors, and we want to channel this proven marketing strategy with an incentive program designed to benefit advocates of SEA in our own community. As a token of our appreciation for your dedication, we are offering a Referral Appreciation Incentive program, per new student, to any current SEA family who directly impacts a new family’s enrollment for 2020-2021. Please click here for full details.
Referral Appreciation Incentive tiers:
$1,000 per student enrolling in E/C (JK/K) or Grades 1 & 2
$750 per student enrolling in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade
$500 per student enrolling in 6th, 7th or 8th grade.
AUDITIONS FOR MUSICAL ARE SUNDAY 3-6PM
Auditions are this Sunday 3-6pm!
Click here for audition materials.  Open to 5th through 8th grade SEA students, girls grades 4-8, tap dancers (girls) grade 6-8. No parts are pre-cast, but the nature of the show favors older students for the leading roles. Rehearsals begin the first Sunday after we resume school in January with Production Dates April 3, 4, 5. Please be sure you have enough time to commit to the rehearsals. Rehearsals alternating Wednesday afternoons, 3;00-4:00 OR Wednesday nights, 6:00-8;00 PM (dance rehearsals, so not everyone is needed at all rehearsals), Fridays, 3:00-5:00, mainly lead roles, Sundays, 3:00-6:00, mainly full cast. There are a good number of "featured talent numbers" and "main production numbers". Students will be asked to sing the required song and learn a dance routine. Callbacks for acting roles are by invitation set for Wednesday, November 6.
