FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SEA Families,
Prayer is a need of our soul; it is the life of our heart.” This past week, I found myself sitting in the Chapel, praying and talking to God. Yesterday, a student came in and asked me if everything was ok. He said he noticed I had been in the Chapel a few times lately and wondered if there was something wrong. I told him I was talking and praying to God because I know several families struggling with very difficult decisions right now. He asked if he could pray with me. I smiled and thanked him. I am so grateful for his empathy and kindness. Isn’t this the season for such blessings?
I realize life is hectic right now. Whether I am running from work, to sports practices, to shopping for Christmas, I just can’t find the time to settle. But isn’t this hectic time exactly when we need to feed our soul with prayer? We can't allow the craziness of the season stop us from just taking a moment to strengthen our relationship with God. In the Chapel with that student, I was reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.
Next Monday and Tuesday are our last days in school before Christmas vacation. Hopefully many of you will be able to attend the Christmas Program at 6pm Monday Evening. Our 4th through 8th graders will sing, dance and play beautiful seasonal songs. We end Tuesday with our Christmas Liturgy at 1:45pm. We always look forward to seeing our SEA families at our special Masses.  May this season be blessed with loving moments for you and your family!   Fondly, Tricia
WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY?
Advent is a time of preparation but Pope Francis tells us it should be a time of joy too.  Over the past few weeks, --throughout this season of Advent--We have been asking our boys--"What brings you joy?" Please take a few minutes to check out their responses.  We love everything about this videoMerry Christmas from SEA Faculty, Staff and Students!
FACULTY & STAFF CHRISTMAS FUND
For many years, it has been customary for SEA families (if they desire) to make a contribution to the Faculty & Staff Christmas Fund which is distributed among all of the members of the faculty & staff. Many families find this option attractive because it eliminates the need to purchase individual gifts. You may contribute any amount to this fund, and there is certainly no obligation to participate. If you do take part, please send checks (payable to SEA with 'Christmas Fund' in the memo line) to the attention of Bill D’Amato by 12pm THIS Tuesday, December 19th. Thank you!

FROM THE ADVANCEMENT OFFICE
Time is running out to make your charitable contributions for the 2017 tax year. Have you made your Annual Fund gift to Saint Edmond's yet? While the Academy's campaign year runs July 1st through June 30th, gifts for your 2017 personal tax year must be made by December 31st to count in the current year. Our current parent participation in the Annual Fund currently stands at 19%. Let's drive that number higher and surpass last year's percentage of 60%.
