Academics at the Academy

Best Practice, Rigor and Acceleration

Saint Edmond's Academy understands boys. We continually research best practices to meet the needs of every learner.  In believing every boy can learn, the Academy provides a differentiated approach to learning.  The Academy also integrates an enrichment program, an Honors math program, and an Andre Program to support students with diagnosed, mild learning differences to meet our rigorous curriculum.

To build community and promote spiritual growth among our boys, we provide Chapel time for students in Early Childhood through grade 3.  Chapel time allows students to learn as a community about God and our roles as His citizens.  For grades 4-8, Monday Meeting is a often a time to gather together to learn about faith, spiritual growth, social skills or to share celebrations.

Technology plays a critical role in our learning process. It is more than an extension; it is integrated in how students learn. The Academy has adopted iPads as our primary technology tool for the students, with iPads available at every grade level.  Students in grades 6-8 lease iPads through SEA to learn, research, collaborate, write, create, and analyze as part of the 1:1 initiative. Students may not use non-Academy leased devices.

We strive for student engagement in our classrooms, with boys questioning, participating, and collaborating.  It is different here.  We believe learning extends beyond the classroom walls.  Take a tour and observe students learning in every area of the school.  As our boys move on to high school, they are prepared for the challenge of a high school curriculum. They leave here with a strong sense of self and confidence.
