Academics at the Academy

Best Practice, Rigor and Acceleration

Saint Edmond's Academy understands boys and believes every boy can learn. We continually research best practices to meet the needs of every learner.  In believing every boy can learn, the Academy provides a differentiated approach to learning.  The Academy also integrates a student-choice enrichment program, an Honors program, and an Andre Program to support students with mild learning differences to meet the rigorous curriculum. Student-selected enrichment courses range from band and choir to coding and community service.

To build community and promote spiritual growth among our boys, we provide Chapel time for students in grades JK through 3.  Chapel time allows students to learn as a community about God and our roles as His citizens.  For grades 4-8, Monday Morning Meeting is a time when the older boys gather together to learn about faith, spiritual growth, social skills and also to share celebrations.

Technology plays a critical role in the learning process at Saint Edmond's Academy. Technology is more than an extension; it is integrated in how students learn. The Academy has adopted iPads as our primary technology tool for the students, with iPads available at every grade level.  Students in grades 6-8 lease iPads to learn, research, collaborate, write, create, and analyze as part of the 1:1 initiative.

The Academy provides a rigorous curriculum, based in best practices and research.  We strive for student engagement in our classrooms, with boys questioning, participating, and collaborating.  It is different here.  We believe learning extends beyond the classroom walls.  Come for a tour and observe students learning in every area of the school.  As our boys move on to high school, they are prepared for the challenge of a high school curriculum. They leave here with a strong sense of self and confidence.
