Enhancing Academics and the Learning Environment Through Innovative Technology Use

Technology plays a critical role in the learning process throughout each grade level at Saint Edmond's Academy. Our faculty is committed to the exploration of the latest technological advancements and how they can be integrated into the classroom to enhance the academic experience.

Our faculty believes that technology in the classroom does not need to center around sedentary computer stations. In the Lower Form, grades JK through 3, there are SMARTBoards in every classroom. These full-sized boards allow students to take interactive learning to another level by utilizing the latest in online technology while being physically active and mobile.

1:1 iPad© Program
Saint Edmond's Academy is committed to technology with all aspects of learning. Technology provides boys with an environment that meets them where they are and where they will need to be in the future by playing a critical role in the learning process throughout all grades.  As the Academy enters its sixth year of its iPad program for grades 6, 7 & 8, technology continues to transform learning.  We knew that technology integration would impact how we teach and how the boys learn. Its impact has been significant.  Now they always have their homework, classwork, notes, projects, and assignment pad in one piece of technology. It has made an amazing transformation in the organization of the boys!  Please Contact our Technology Coordinator, Mr. Brian Johns ’88 with any questions. Our Wireless Campus
The Academy's wireless network allows our students and faculty great flexibility in accessing shared data from anywhere on campus. Teachers can take their classes to various parts of the building and outside and still have the ability to access online resources from iPads and laptops. This includes the ability to wirelessly print from various devices to printers and copy machines across our campus. All Upper Form students, grades 6 through 8, receive a Saint Edmond's email address which they can utilize to easily communicate with their teachers regarding assignments, projects, or concerns. This allows the boys, and their parents, greater accessibility to our teachers outside of normal classroom hours.

Thomas P. Sweeney Library
Did you know that our entire library catalog is now online?  The catalog is supported by Follett Library Services and can be searched from home or school. Many new books were added over the Summer. The Divergent and Maze Runner series were part of these new additions. We also added two copies of the 2015 Guiness Book of World Records. We are always pleased to receive donations from our community as well. If you have books at home that you would like to donate, please contact the School Librarian, Tammy Hayes-Hartman, M.L.S.,M.Ed.

NetClassroom and NetCommunity
Giving our parents and students easy and immediate access to their grades, assignments, calendars, and schedules is a priority for us at Saint Edmond's which is why we have a fully-integrated database system for tracking all things related to your family. Using only one login and password, families can have instant access to daily life on campus with real-time updates created digitally. No more relying on paper calendars or newsletters when everything is readily available in our online community or is electronically delivered directly to your inbox. Reducing paper usage and providing up to the minute information is essential to our Academy and your family.
